History[edit | edit source]
Nurse Ferry is only seen once during the Ginger Snaps film and is not seen nor mentioned afterwards.
Brigitte and Ginger Fitzgerald visit her one October to ask her about Ginger's abnormal period and other bodily changes, such as hair growth and very fast healing (her scars from the Beast of Bailey Downs attack). She educates the Fitzgerald sisters about the female reproductive system and the menstruation cycle. Although being a knowledgeable person about the human body, she ignored Brigitte and Ginger's concerns about Ginger's excess menstruation and brushed it off as a normal abnormality for a young woman's first period. She seems stuck-up, and at the end, she offers the sisters condoms to protect themselves while having sex.
Significance[edit | edit source]
Nurse Ferry is analogous to Pamela Fitzgerald, who are both loving and caring figures, but to the point of being overwhelming to Brigitte and Ginger. Although good-natured, she is over-the-top and dismisses their concerns. Their awkward encounter made the sisters decide to not pursue help from the Nurse nor from other people who could help Ginger.
